About Nagpur:

History:

In the history Nagpur was founded by Gonds, but after some time it became the part of Maratha Empire under Bhonsles. Then in 19th century, The British East India Company, took over Nagpur, and made it a capital of central provinces and Berar. After 1st reorganisation of states, nagpur lost its capital status, but according to informal 'Nagpur Pact' between political leaders, it became the second capital of Maharashtra.

Nagpur is also said to be a Tiger Capital Of India, due to its connectivity to to many Tiger Reserves In India. There are total 39 tiger reserves in Country, 13 of them are in Vidarbha alone. Like Kanha and Pench are the two major national parks in India, which are at a very close proximity to Nagpur.
